FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How long will the wine last once the bottle has been opened?

Wine deteriorates once it comes in contact with air so it’s best to use an entire bottle once it’s opened to preserve the freshness. If there’s a wine shop in your town, you can buy a bottle of canned Co2. You can spray a bit of Co2 into an opened bottle and that will displace the air, extending the freshness of the wine. This has to be done weekly for best results.

What is the best way to store wine?

The ideal storage temperature for wine is 55 degrees farenheit. At this temperature, wine will last for many years. If you don’t have a temperature controlled wine cellar, just keep it in a cool place. Be careful not to let the wine freeze and by all means, do not leave it in a closed car as that will spoil the wine quickly.

How many servings are there in a bottle?

This depends on how you’re serving the wine. One bottle contains three 4oz servings, which is about as much as you would get in a restaurant if you order wine by the glass. If you’re serving it for a toast, you can get 6-8 servings. If you’re serving it in communion cups, you can get 36 servings per bottle.

Can I mail wine to my friends or relatives out of state?

The rules for shipping alcohol are complex and vary from state to state. Generally you are not allowed to ship wine unless you have a license to do so. There are shipping companies that specialize in shipping beverages that contain alcohol. Check your phone book and call ahead or call your local wine shop for information. We can ship wine for you, just include a note with your order that this is a gift to your friend or relative.

Can you ship wine overseas? How are customs duties handled?

We’ve shipped wine to several countries successfully however it varies by country. Japan is uncomplicated as is Germany, France and England. Ireland does not allow direct shipment of wine and Canada makes it so complicated it’s virtually impossible. In the countries that do allow it, customs duties seem to average $1.00 per bottle which must be paid by the recipient. Sometimes, the customs office will waive the duties but that’s not always the case.

I ordered wine recently and got two charges on my credit card, why’s that?

The first charge is for shipping and the 2nd charge is for the wine and sales tax. I do not mark up the shipping price. Since each state has different rules about alcoholic beverages, shipping cost can vary widely. Also, my license does not allow me to ship to some states so your wine is delivered to a 3rd party shipper that holds a license or permit to import wine into your state. In most cases, the shipping company we use is WWShippingSolutions.

How long will it take for my wine to arrive?

Outside of California, it will usually take 10-14 days standard shipping once the wine has been delivered to the shipper. Generally, I deliver wine to be shipped once a week. If you need wine by a certain date, you must let me know so I can speed things up. If you need wine on short notice, you can ship 2nd day air. Obviously, that’s more expensive.

Shipments to Japan or Europe must go 2nd Day Air, so the wine arrives quickly however Customs processing can take 7-10 days.

What does it mean spiritually for the person who receives holy wine?

Father, Rev. Yang, Rev. Kwak, Rev. Jenkins have all written about the value and meaning of Cheon Il Guk Holy Wine and you can read their guidance here.
Basically, the holy wine is connected to the change of blood lineage. Although a couple does not become a “Blessed Couple” simply by drinking holy wine, it’s the beginning of the process for them to change the blood lineage. Rev. Kwak refers to this stage as “Pre-Blessing.” Once people take the holy wine, they are removed from Satan’s dominion, consequently, the foothold of Satan disappears and our second and third generations and our further descendants will be able to live freer and safer lives.

Do people need to know the meaning to receive the benefit of Cheon Il Guk Holy Wine?

No. Father explained it like this, Adam and Eve did not know they were losing their original lineage and dominion over all things when they fell. Consequently, people do not need to fully understand when this is being restored. Here’s what Father said:

All of you went through the ceremony of converting the lineage before you received the Blessing, didn’t you? You did not really understand any of it; you simply followed my orders, but in reality it is not that simple.

Naturally, it’s better to know mainly because there’s much more to do in order to accomplish complete restoration and change of blood lineage. This is why Father also emphasizes the importance of taking responsibility and educating the people who receive the holy wine blessing.

Is there a special procedure or ceremony for giving Holy Wine?

All ceremonies related to the blessing take place in reverse order of the Fall.

When you, as a candidate, are offered the holy wine, Eve receives it first. Without Eve, the man cannot be reborn. Because the purpose of drinking the wine is restoration, Eve must receive the holy wine first, drink half of it, and then offer the remaining half to her husband. After you drink from the cup, you must return it. The returned cup is then passed in reverse, from Father to Mother, and then the archangel, and then left to rest. In this way, you become unified in heart.

More information about the significance of the Holy Wine can be found in the Cheong Seong Gyeong, Book 9 Blessed Family, Chapter 1 True Parents and the Blessing, Section 2.4 Three Stages in Changing the Lineage, page 1,275.
